Cham game 1 - Milano 2013 open

First game I faced a Seleucid army used by a strong opponent, winner of the tournament before Milano. Not an easy match up, expecially because I do not like Pk, and a tough start

I attacked and the battlefield was quite open. With such a table, I decided to echelon and try to seize the marsh on the far right, while all my line wheeled. The marsh was garrisoned by fewer IAxS than my attack group. Riccardo, sensing the danger, gave there the higher pip dice, out of four regular corps, to manouver them. Both my allies were reliable.

The marsh did not hide the enemy troops from artillery fire, and this proved effctive to disorder the enemy while the Cham RAxS advanced

In the meantime the Seleucids advanced to attack my left flank and having there few pips I could not react

Seleucid auxilia gave way to avoid being surrounded

I had retreat on the left, because my position was compromized by the KnX threat against cham auxilia

On the right the seleucid, to save the few AxS left, did no more contest the road and the cham send a marauder party to sack the enemy army baggage. In the meantime the artilleru fire forced the Seleucid to advance the phalank exposing the army right flank

After some good activations, finally Chams were able to organize a good defensive formation on the left wing

The Seleucid now tried a coordinated attack

The Seleucid had some bad combat rolls and lost many elements

At the game end Cham had destroyed 20% of the enemy army disheartening the biggest seleucid corps. 15-10. A good result, because the open terrain foced me to play echeloned, a tactic that costed a lot of pip to move the clumsy elephants, and even more to well coordinate the commands. Seleucid made a good match. The only mistake imho was to let the road open to my marching column.
